Originally from Denmark, I came to Norfolk 24 years ago and raised my three children here. I am an experienced primary school teacher, specialising in EYFS and a certified Forest School leader (level 3). While pursuing my love of the outdoors and working at various Forest Schools, I dreamt about using my home plot for the same purpose. That's how Beechnut started. When not in Forest School mode, you might see me on the river Yare, in the river Bure, on my old bike or going for a very slow jog!

I am a Forest School practitioner (level 2) with over 10 years of forest school experience.
It all started in a class room, working as a teaching assistant, where I soon stumbled into the woods. Upon seeing, first hand, how a forest school environment is such an intrinsic part of a child's positive development, exploration and holistic well-being, it seemed the only way! We can all blossom in nature. Currently home educating my two children, the forest school ethos has become a part of my life. This whilst meandering across the fens and coast of Norfolk and the mountains of North Wales, the world is our classroom, with plenty of snack breaks included...

I'm a qualified, experienced teacher and have taken the leap to transfer my skills into the woods as a Level 3 Forest School Leader. I'm fascinated about the positive difference that the outdoors makes to our future generations; and enjoys sharing the children’s individual journeys and learning paths through the woods. You might also know me as ‘Lisa Lark’ at Wheatfen Forest School.

I have lived in Spain and across the UK but have settled in Norfolk with my 2 children. I work as a Level 3 Forest School Leader at The Children's Garden when I'm not at Beechnut or climbing. I first fell in love with the Forest School ethos after having my first child and realising I wanted him to really feel connected to nature and his environment and not be consumed by screens and technology. I am passionate about helping children play using natural resources and their imagination!

Most of my work experience has been around mental health and wellbeing, which will always be a passion of mine. Having experienced Forest School for the first time with my own children, I decided that my future pathways needed to be more focused on nature connection and being in the great outdoors. I am a Level 3 Forest School Leader and work at different Forest Schools, including Beechnut!

I'm a volunteer at Beechnut. I am currently studying towards a degree in childhood studies. My girls and I loved attending Beechnut before they started school, so I'm very glad to be able to still be a part of it. Exploring and learning outdoors is so beneficial for children, and for us adults too! Our spare time is either spent exploring the Norfolk countryside and coast or baking!
