Health and Safety &  Beechnut's Policies

Your child's welfare and safety at our session is paramount. Hazards and risks are assessed daily and control measures are in place to minimise risk. We are DBS checked and First Aid trained.

The aim is not to avoid risks, but to manage risks appropriately. We believe it is important to teach children how to assess and manage risk for themselves, in a secure and supportive environment, so they experience what an appropriate risk is. We carry out 5 types of risk assessments: a seasonal site risk assessment; a daily risk assessment before every Forest School session; an activity risk assessment which will be in place for any activity that may require it; ongoing risk assessments during the sessions; and if needed, an individual risk assessment for medical needs etc.

Our session activities and codes of conduct are being revised and kept up to date with current government guidelines on Covid-19.

Beechnut complies with the Safer Standards as set by the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership.
